There are 56 Government Polytechnics, 16 Government Girls Polytechnics, 16 Government Aided Polytechnics, 02 Government Girls Aided Polytechnics, 39 Private Polytechnics/ Institutes and 04 Private Girls Polytechnics/ Institutes.

UP JEEC Counselling Procedure 2011 - 2012 :-
Based on merit marks & ranks obtained into the JEE(P)-2011, the centralized counseling will be conducted on-line in two phases.

The JEEC Counselling procedure is divided in two phases:
Phase-I : Off-Campus On-Line Counseling ( 06/07/2011 to 07/07/2011 )
Phase-II: On-Campus On-line Counseling First Counseling ( 09/07/2011 )

Here In Phase-I will be off-campus on-line, the candidates can exercise their choices at place of their convenience to know about indicative choice allotment at frequent intervals. Phase-II will be on-campus on-line, where eligible candidates will be required to report at pre-specified counseling centers for registration and final choice submission.

Update (June 20, 2011) : Polytechnic Counselling will start on last week of June 2011, and qualified candidates with ranks 1 to 3000 will attend the online counselling on the first day. This procedure will be continued for the next 10 days for the Open category allotments. After this, the JEECUP counselling 2011 - 2012 program for SC/ST and other reserved categories will begin. There are over 26708 seats in all polytechnic institutes of UP for group ‘A’ (the engineering core branches).
