Vellalar College for Women is a pioneer in women's education, having to its credit a remarkable contribution to empowerment and upliftment of rural Women moulding them into academically and professionally competent, self-sufficient and self-confident Individuals to emerge outstanding in their respective avocations. Having been established in July 1970, the Vellalar College for Women has the twin distinction of being the first Women's college and the only aided Women's College in Erode District.
