    MG university was setup on 2 October 1983 in Kottayam, Kerela. MGU has given affiliation to 223 colleges in Kerela.
    MG university provides academics on Gandhian Thought, Technology, Physics, Behavioural sciences, Sociology, Journalism, Chemical Sciences including Polymer Chemistry, Nursing, Hospital Administration and Disaster Mangement, Environmental Sciences and Management.
    Currently Dr. P. M. Rajan Gurukkal is the Vice Chancellor and Prof. Rajan Varughese is the Pro- Vice- Chancellor.
